Summer of Stuff

The latest film to enter production from PMP is Allostasis (tentatively titled). I'm (Chad Allen Barton) the writer on this one, Mr. Stephen Hildreth will be directing, and Charlie Metz will be in the starring role. The movie is about a codependent young man (Ben) trying to get together with an old flame from high school that has come back to town. She (Sam) does not want to be back here, let alone in a relationship with someone she considered a friend, so Ben has to either change Sam's mind or hope that something will change his mind before he ends up in prison trying demonstrate his love for her.

Shooting is set to start July 16th and wrap July 21st and it will be finished by mid to late August.

In other news, we just finished a rough edit of another film called Hirsch. It was written by Shelby Baldock and directed by myself and Patrick Churvis (He's moving to LA soon!). The film is about an old man that copies Picasso drawings and gets transported to the future, where he is mistaken for the actual artist.

We shot Hirsch at the Sears Crosstown building in Memphis and the two actors were Ron Gephart (Hirsch) and Greg Boller (The Commissioner). Hopefully no one has lead poisoning after shooting in that building for 8 hours (Ron, Greg, we have no money, so don't bother suing).

This year is shaping up to be a productive one. I also shot the steadicam footage for Charlie Metz and Craig Maners' film, Anti-Invasion. I haven't asked them exactly what the film is about yet (I want to be surprised too), so I don't have much of a synopsis for that one. I know there's a gun and possibly a dead body. Seems to be a horror/thriller.

Here's the trailer: http://pianomanpictures.com/post/51434893170/anti-invasion-trailer

This fall, Joey Carr has a comedy short that he'll be shooting at Laurelwood Booksellers. Not much to talk about on this one yet (Super early preproduction).

Also, something that's been looming on the horizon, Lights, Camera, Bullshit. This is our first feature film and I hope to have it done by Christmas. Maybe we'll have a New Years Eve release date (holiday screenings have always worked out for us...not really).

Other than that, we (PMP) will all try to keep everyone (you guys reading this) up to date on what we're doing and when we have things to show you, things that will hopefully entertain you in some way, we'll let you know.

Sweet Tree Rats signing off.
